Welcome!  I just want to take a moment to give you a little background on me. First, my passions are both instructional design and providing in-person learning opportunities.  I have been in training and design for about eight years now, working in education, local government, and state government.  In those areas, I have had the pleasure of training, or creating training for, soft skills such as leadership, empathy, communication, and teamwork; and technical skills such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Learning Management System (LMS) administration, and automated eligibility system entry.  Those topics are just a few of many that I have worked with in my time with instructional design and training.
In those projects mentioned above, I have acted in a variety of capacities.  I have been an instructional designer, creating learnings from scratch, or editing after development, and everything in between.  I have acted in the capacity of subject matter expert (SME), providing the necessary knowledge to the instructional designers, and I have been the one collaborating with the SME to gather information.  I have been an LMS coordinator, working with both Saba and Relias.  Lastly, but not least, I have been the talent, providing in-classroom training, acting in educational videos, recording voice-overs, and hosting educational presentations.
When creating experiences, either online or face-to-face, I strive to provide high-quality training to all levels of the organization that is focused on accuracy and empathy.  I have worked in leader development in California and Texas, creating curriculum for social workers, clinicians, administration, correctional staff, and a host of other job fields.  Additionally, all training provided focuses on the needs of the client, or the customer, whether they are internal or external.
My education, both formal and informal, has trained me to provide equitable and inclusive training that empowers staff to be leaders at every level.  I obtained my Bachelor's in Business Administration with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership from Fresno Pacific University in California.  The teaching focused on servant leadership, showing that the way to success is providing the necessary skills and tools to your team to allow them to achieve greatness.  From there, I obtained my Master's in Public Administration with an emphasis in Instructional Systems Design and Technology from Sam Houston State University in Texas.  This allowed me to take the knowledge I gained from my Bachelor's education, as well as my informal education in reading authors such as Brené Brown, Simon Sinek, Gary V., and Daniel Pink, and apply it toward creating quality empathetic training for government organizations.  Lastly, I am currently working on my doctorate in Instructional Systems Design and Technology with my dissertation aimed at provided immersive learning opportunities that focus on empowering the learner, so that they may further engage and empower the customers and clients that they serve.
